CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Wealth Advisor Joe Walsh III, a.k.a. “Little Joe,” grew up in the financial planning business. He remembers going to LPL Financial conferences with his dad from the age of 14 and genuinely being more interested in the breakout sessions than in the free swag. Big Joe tried to steer his son into other fields and encouraged him to follow his passion, but for Little Joe, that was Finance. After experiencing several “warm and fuzzy” moments when his father’s clients had been positively impacted by sound financial advice, Little Joe was hooked.
Even after Joe obtained his Finance degree from the University of Florida, his father suggested that he work elsewhere out of concern that his son might not be happy in the family business. But Joe says joining his father’s firm was a natural fit, and he has worked alongside Big Joe at Walsh & Associates since 2003.
One of Joe’s strengths is conveying what appear to be complex financial issues in a simple, easy-to-understand manner. This way, all family members can participate in the discussion of maintaining, growing and transferring wealth. Joe’s goal is to help clients break the cycle of the old adage: “The first generation makes it, the second generation spends it, and the third generation blows it.”
Joe and his wife, Alex, have two boys, Joe IV and Avett. The family also has a rescue dog named Foster who occasionally comes to work with Joe and provides his pet therapy talents to the associates in exchange for treats.
