HUNTER SMITH

While earning his B.A. in Psychology, Hunter Smith became increasingly fascinated by the psychological pitfalls that limit a person’s ability to build and preserve wealth. In addition to juggling a full course load and his job as assistant office manager for a clinical psychology practice, Hunter began studying finance in his free time. He decided that after graduation he wanted to go into the field of finance and, more specifically, to join a team of advisors who guides clients through their financial planning challenges by considering aspects of behavioral finance at play. To prepare for this new career path, Hunter earned his Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (FPQP™) designation before graduating from the University of South Florida in December 2022. In May 2023, Hunter joined Walsh & Associates as a Client Relationship Manager in our Sarasota, Florida office, saying that he admired the firm’s “client-driven, comprehensive approach to financial planning.”

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Hunter moved to Florida at the age of nine, where he enjoys the great outdoors, fishing, team sports, exercising, skateboarding, and listening to “music that sounds good.” Hunter is a passionate public speaker on personal development, and he still studies psychology and finance in his free time. He also loves spending time with his girlfriend, Haley. Hunter and Haley are happy pet parents to their two cats, Simba and Cleo.
